Should I focus on clarity or jargon when writing content? According to Google’s Matt Cutts, the answer is to focus on clarity over technical jargon whenever possible.
Cutts explains that generally speaking, having content that the average user can understand is far more important than using a lot of technical jargon that the majority of people cannot follow along with.
He emphasizes repeatedly, that clarity is the most important factor to keep in mind.
Naturally, if the target audience is say for example, a technically aware group, in that situation, it may very well be appropriate to use technical language.
For the most part though, he suggests that the content be more suited towards users who are at a novice level.
